Transforming Homes, Transforming Lives

Are you looking for ways to serve or volunteer in your community or local church? The Energy Makeover is one way you can get involved with your community and a local church. Through the Energy Makeover campaign your church will partner with local cooperatives to provide help on needed projects. Whether it’s Caulking a window, weather-stripping a door, installing sealers behind outlet and light switch plates, changing light bulbs to compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL’s), your assistance is valuable! Check out the Roster of Churches to see if your church is participating in the Energy makeover program.

If hands on is not for you, you can participate financially by giving toward a home sponsorship, your efforts will help put the needed weatherization materials in the hands of the Energy Makeover team. Contributions will be used to purchase weatherization materials such as, caulking, weather-stripping, heating and air conditioning filters, compact fluorescent light bulbs, foam sealers for outlet and light switches, water heater pipe wrap. Home sponsorships average $100 per home.

Transforming Homes, Transforming Lives

Energy makeover is a campaign that creates a heart to serve in your congregation. During these hard economic times, many people are in need of some assistance. When groups or churches set out to serve the community, it changes not only the community but the church members as well. Through the Energy Makeover we not only Transform Homes we Transform Lives.

Join the Energy Makeover team from your church and make a difference with helping people lower their bills through weatherization of their homes. The Energy Makeover team will be responsible for caulking and weather-stripping doors and windows, changing lights from incandescent to CFL’s compact fluorescent bulbs and much more.

About the Energy Makeover

Transforming Homes, Transforming Lives

Your cooperative is partnering with churches and non-profits to help meet the complex challenges of our time. These organizations have been helping individuals pay their utility bills through benevolence funds. The Energy Makeover initiative will help not by paying the utility bill but by fixing the problem and lowering bills through weatherization procedures.

Leadership and training resources involved with this initiative will be provided by your cooperative, and the churches / non profits will provide the labor. This will also allow individuals who can’t pay their bills, or just simply can’t perform the energy efficiency measures to have a resource that can help them lower their monthly usage resulting in a lower utility bill.
